How To Start Off The New Year With A Fresh Start.

There could be any number of reasons why you’re not feeling yourself at the moment. Coronavirus has long term effects and it could be these taking their toll on you, it could be lockdown and having so much time spent at home that is making you feel unlike yourself. Have you lost your job and are looking for purpose, even a reason to get dressed in the morning? Or it could have nothing to do with the national pandemic, you may have just had a baby, be recovering from another illness or have just been through a breakup or bereavement, Whatever it is that is making you not feel yourself, here are a few tips for you to try to feel like yourself again.

Get Into A Routine.

This sounds easier than it is when you’re feeling down but getting into a routine can really be crucial when it comes to feeling better about yourself and your life. Having structure makes you feel happier; so whether this is a regular morning workout, going for a walk then coming home and having a bath or eating meals at times, if you have a structure then it makes it easier to get up in the morning and to get dressed. You only need to focus on the basics such as eating, sleeping, exercise, and work if you haven nothing else. When you're feeling better, you can incorporate more. For now, give yourself a break and just go back to basics.

Exercise.

Again it seems like the last thing you would want to do but taking care of your body can have incredible results not only on your health but on your self-esteem, your confidence and overall happiness. Find a home workout to do online and just start with ten minutes, no pressure. Once you start doing this and feeling like you’re accomplishing something and feeling better about yourself from doing it, you can start to increase what you do. Try yoga, Pilates, or a full-on beach body workout, but start slow and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you’re looking to lose weight and this is making you unhappy then while you should still exercise for the mental health benefits you can also look into non surgical fat removal as a solution which can boost your confidence and get you feeling back to yourself even quicker.

Meditate.

Meditation will alleviate stress and anxiety, enhance self-esteem, and bring control to your life. There are plenty of meditation videos you can listen to for free on YouTube or download an app like Calm or Head Space, which can help you. You don’t even need much time, just a few minutes a day and you will start to see a difference.

Lean on the people you love.

While everyone is going through a tough time right now, there will be someone you can turn to or you can help support each other through this difficult time. There will always be someone who has been through what you are going through and someone who can and will be there for you. Let your family and friends support you in whatever way possible and don’t be afraid to tell them that you need help.
