How To Spice Up Your Look This Fall!

Clothes are more than simply functional. They also offer a chance to show off our creativity and personality. Getting to this stage can be a process, however. And even if we do get to the stage where we feel happy with how we look, that doesn’t mean that we’re just done for life. Our look can, after all, begin to look a little boring after a while. At that point, it’s worthwhile looking at mixing things up. This will keep things interesting for you, and also allow you to turn heads when you’re out in the street. Plus, it’s just fun. Life can be difficult, so it’s a good idea to see how we can make things more interesting wherever possible! And it’s definitely possible with your sense of style.

In this blog, we’ll run through some useful ways that you can do just that. Take our tips, and it won’t be long before you’re feeling great about your appearance!

Clear Out Old Clothes

We all have clothes in the wardrobe that we love and wear again and again. However, while those clothes may once have been what made you stand out from the crowd, if you’ve been wearing them for a long time, then they’ve probably lost some of their magic. And may, in fact, be bringing your style down a little. So while it can be tough to go through your wardrobe and clear out clothing that you once loved, it’s important to do so. If you really can’t bear to get rid of them for sentimental reasons, then commit to just wearing them inside the home (where nobody can see them!).

What Do You Want To Project?

When you’re looking to freshen up your look, it’s a good idea to think about what you want to project to the world. You should dress for yourself, of course, but there’ll be a particular type of energy that you want to showcase. This can help to guide your clothes purchasing decisions. Also, it’s highly possible that the image you want to project is different to what it was like several years ago. Your look could be more playful, colorful, rebellious; anything, really!

Hit the Stores

Once you’ve got a sense of the clothing that you want, it’ll be time to get out the credit card and hit the stores. When you’re going shopping, it’s important to follow a couple of golden rules. Perhaps the most important is to invest in quality items. There’s often a temptation to buy the cheapest item that you can find, but if you’re taking that approach, be sure to inspect the quality. If it’s cheap in both cost and quality, then it probably won’t provide the desired results. The good news is that you usually don’t have to spend the earth to get an item of quality. Even if you just spend 20% more than you normally do, you’ll likely end up with an item that’s of much higher quality.

Statement Pieces

When you’re freshening up your wardrobe, you should divide your purchases into two categories. One is the ‘everyday items’; these are the pieces of clothing that’ll be in constant rotation, and which you’ll wear every day. The other are the statement pieces. These are the items that you might not wear all year round but which, when you do, will catch people’s attention. Examples include a stunning black dress for cocktail parties and winter boots, and winter coat.

Add Some Character

Of course, you can’t expect your clothing to do all the work. Fortunately, they don’t have to -- not when you add some character to your style. There are multiple ways to do this. For example, you could look at adding some jewelry, like what you’ll find at, to your outfits. This type of accessory can really help to take your outfits to the next level. Plus, if you buy a selection, then you’ll have one to go with whatever clothing you’re wearing.

Hair Changes

As well as your clothing and accessories, another way to freshen up your look is to visit the salon and change your hairstyle. People are often pretty committed to their hairstyle and sometimes go years without changing it up in any meaningful way. But there’s value in doing so. One of the things that hold people back from doing so is a lack of imagination when it comes to their hair. And that’s absolutely fine -- it’s not a skill that most people have. That’s why it’s a good idea to put the process in the hands of people who do have that skill: the professionals. If you go to the best in town and ask them what they recommend, then you’ll likely find that you leave the salon looking like a million dollars.

Hit the Gym

Now, we know that the gym isn’t everyone’s idea of a great time. It does require effort, after all, and wouldn’t it be nicer to spend that time on the couch? The truth is that there are many, many benefits to working up a sweat, including getting fit and toned, which can really elevate your appearance. But also, there’s the matter of the added energy and the boosts in mood that it brings. Give it a try and you’ll see what we mean!

Play Around

If you’re going to upgrade your look, then consider just playing around. There are many serious aspects of life, but your clothing doesn’t have to be one of those things. Test things out, see what works, and have fun with your clothing and style -- it’s not the end of the world if you make a misstep

Walking With Confidence

Finally, remember that your appearance isn’t entirely dependent on your clothing and other physical things. Your confidence also has an impact -- in fact, it probably has a bigger impact than you might realize. If you walk tall and with confidence, then that’ll come across to other people. Plus, it’ll just help you to enjoy life more, and isn’t that the whole point?
